Exotic Pet Shipping Delivery—Welfare-Focused Transport For Exotic Pets
How Our Shipping & Delivery Works
At Supreme Exotic Animals, every shipment is planned around the animal’s
welfare, not just speed. From the moment a reservation is finalized through to arriving at the destination, our team coordinates veterinary clearance.
travel documentation, carrier booking, and delivery tracking to give you
confidence that your new companion will arrive safely.
Pickup Options
Primary Pickup: Greenville, Mississippi region: Most primates and small mammals are available for pickup by appointment after approval. Address provided after verification for biosecurity.
Bring an appropriate carrier if advised, a government ID, and permit copies if required by your state.
Transport Options
We coordinate with transport partners experienced with live exotic animals, not standard parcel carriers.
The process follows these steps:
1. Reservation & Legal Verification
Before any travel is booked, we confirm that receiving the animal in your
location is legal and that your setup meets the species’ basic welfare needs.
This includes verifying state and local regulations where applicable. We turn away approximately 40% of inquiries that do not meet these standards; this protects both the animal and you.
2. Final Health Clearance
Once payment is finalized, your animal receives a thorough final veterinary
examination to confirm it is healthy, stable, and fit for travel. This is
why the delivery process takes approximately 24–48 hours after payment
clears — we do not cut corners on health checks.
3. Travel Preparation
Your animal is:
- Confirmed as microchipped (if not already done)
- Placed in an approved, appropriately sized travel crate with ventilation,
absorbent bedding, and secure locking
- Assessed for temperature-appropriate packaging (heat or cold protection
as needed for the season and route)
- Documented with health records, vaccination history, and identification
that travel with the animal
4. Carrier Booking & Departure
We primarily use major airlines with dedicated pet cargo programs. Our
Preferred carriers have consistently safe records for animal transport.
Flights are selected to minimize layovers and transit stress — we do not
recommend multi-stop routes that unnecessarily extend travel time.
5. Tracking & Arrival
Once your shipment is booked, you receive tracking information and arrival
details. For air freight, the animal arrives at the cargo facility of the
airport closest to you — you (or your designated pickup person) collect the
animal there with the required documentation. For personal delivery, a
transport agent handles the final leg and delivers to your specified address.
Transport is not offered to states where ownership is prohibited (e.g., California, New York for primates) or where permits cannot be verified.
Crate & Welfare Standards
- Appropriately sized crate per species age/size—allows standing, turning, lying
- Absorbent bedding, ventilation openings not blocked
- Food/water as suitable for duration per veterinary guidance (infant primates may require different protocol discussed individually)
- No tranquilization without veterinary direction
- Labeling: Live Animal, handle with care, orientation arrows
We do not offer sea transport as a generic claim—previous product templates listed “sea transport” generically. Real options are Air and Ground.
Weather Holds
For animal safety, we hold transport when
- Origin, transit or destination temperature forecast exceeding 85°F (29°C) or below 35°F (1.7°C)
- Severe weather warnings, airline embargoes
- Additional holds for infant animals under 10 weeks
We will reschedule at no extra transport fee for weather holds initiated by us.
Health Certificate & Paperwork
For interstate transport, we provide:
- Veterinary health certificate within 10 days of transport where required
- Vaccination and microchip records
- Species transport documentation
International export requires CITES permits, import permits, and extended quarantine—we evaluate case by case and only work with licensed exporters. Many international inquiries cannot be fulfilled due to CITES Appendix I restrictions (e.g., chimpanzee).
Cost
Transport cost is separate from animal reservation. Varies by distance, crate, and mode. Quote provided after application approval and location verification.
FAQ
Do you ship to Texas, Florida, Ohio, Tennessee?
Yes, if ownership is legal in your county/city and permits verified. These are common inquiries. We coordinate transport accordingly.
Can you ship a capybara?
Capybara ground transport requires specialized large crate and climate control. Possible within legal regions, evaluated individually for welfare.
How long does shipping take?
Typically 1-3 days after payment received and approval completed, plus weather hold if needed. Quote includes transit estimate.
What if animal arrives stressed?
Mild stress and reduced appetite first 24-48 hours can be normal. Provide quiet, warm, enriched space per care guide, maintain transition diet, contact us and your exotic vet if symptoms persist beyond 48 hours.
